Lions
Lions are known to be one of the four main big cats whom are carnivores. They live in the grasslands of Africa or also known as the savanna. Male lions have fur around there next called manes. Lions live in groups called prides, the pride has one, two or three pride males that are in charge. All of the female lions hunt. When cubs grow old enough, the male cubs are kicked out to start their own pride or take over someone else's. The female cubs stay in their original pride.
Cheetah
The cheetah is the fastest land animal on the earth. It can run up to 75 miles an hour. The cheetah lives on its own until it is mating season. The cheetah is fast but that a small head and smaller teeth than the rest of the cats. Cheetahs are in the top four big cats of the world.
Ostrich
Ostriches are the largest land bird, but since their wings aren't meant for flying they are flight-less birds. These birds also have the largest eggs because of their size. It is false that they put their heads in the ground. They lay their heads in the ground instead of burying them like people believe they do.
Cape Buffalo
The cape buffalo stay in herds anywhere from about 20 to hundreds. The buffalo are black or a dark brown. These massive creatures will do anything to protect their young in the spring and early summer.
Heyena (Spotted)
The hyena is a rival of the massive lions and other large predators. The hyena will fight off large predators like lion for an easy meal, but also hunt themselves. They live in groups, called clans, for protection and better hunting chances.
Black Rhino
Rhinos are large animals that have horn on their heads. These animals can and will protect their young from threats anywhere from lions, to hyena, and possibly humans. The animals are not distinguished by the White Rhino by color, but by their lip shape.
Elephant
Elephants are large land mammals that have a long nose called a trunk. These massive animals use it to breathe and cool off in the savanna heat. Elephants weight over a ton.
Nile Crocodile
The Nile Crocodile is one of the most dangerous animals in the world. If it catches prey, the croc will start to preform a death roll. The death roll is where the crocodile holds its prey in its mouth and spins. Most of the time the limb will break off and they will swallow it whole.
African Giraffe
The giraffe is the world's tallest land animal. These creatures have the same amount of neck bones as human, 7. Their bones are just elongated. These animals are not normally aggressive, but when in a stampede, the animals hooves can cause severe injuries.
